IN THE ARTIST'S OWN WORDS, ABOUT HER WORK...
After a twelve-year hiatus of my intense focus being solely on my three fantastic sons, I
returned to that which always brought me a sense of peace and serenity - painting and
photography. I also love to write; but when my words were becoming too many,
painting was the best way I could express myself visually without writing one word
about how I was feeling or how someone or something has inspired me.
My work and its subjects mirror aspects, even latent ones, of myself. Vincent van Gogh,
Georgia O’Keefe, and Frida Kahlo have all inspired me tremendously. Those artists
represent parts of my own self. Georgia, for her love of nature; Vincent and Frida, for
their raw and honest interpretation of themselves. They had no fear of seeing
themselves in total truth. I strive to work and represent myself in this same raw and
honest manner because I know that what I express on canvas has the power to reach
someone in a way that perhaps nothing else can.

Lolo Mangual has been an artist for over a decade. Lolo also has a solid professional
background as a quality photographer and a fashion model. Ms. Mangual has
completed several ads; including Bonita, a cosmetics collection, Bonita Cosmetics, by
Rosemary Garcia. The ad was published for a Macy's postcard. Laura continues to
paint and photograph and is an esteemed member and Second Vice -President of The
Euclid Art Association and member of The Creative Artist Association. She's won many
awards for her work in several art shows and has plans to be featured in a major
museum as soon as next year. Words that she lives by are, " Yes, you can be a dreamer
and a doer too, if you remove one word from your vocabulary: impossible. " She is the
